Girl Scouts of Western New York is proud to announce Amber Hornquist of Glenwood, NY, as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout. Hornquist’s project, Lothlorien Feed Bins and Organizing, involved improving the tack room and building feed bins for the horses at Lothlorien TRC, a riding center for veterans and people with disabilities.
Emma is an official GSWNY 2020 Girl Scout Gold Award recipient. Her project was a mural for the Monroe County Visitation Center, a part of the Society for the Protection and Care of Children.
The idea is simple: girls write letters to people in nursing homes, senior centers, and assisted living facilities, including the dedicated staff and caregivers. This long-distance hug is a way to share your good thoughts with these vulnerable and loved community members.
