The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, earned by Senior or Ambassador Girl Scouts who create sustainable, measurable, and lasting change on a community issue. Recipients complete a minimum of 80 hours of work, demonstrating exceptional leadership.
Girl Scouts identify a root cause of a local or global issue and implement a project with lasting, measurable impact. The process includes choosing an issue, researching, recruiting a team, creating a plan, submitting a proposal, taking action, and educating others.
Over the course of the month, we will be highlighting the Girl Scouts of Western New York Gold Awardees! Please join us as we congratulate Girl Scout Gold Award recipient Cora Clouser.
Cora’s project, “Read to Succeed: Bridging Books to Bright Futures,” focused on promoting literacy and improving access to books and educational resources for youth in her community. Through reading initiatives and outreach efforts, Cora helped inspire a love of learning and encourage future success through literacy.
