Girl Scouts of WNY announces Nicole Spiegel as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout

irl Scouts of Western New York is proud to announce Nicole Spiegel of East Amherst, NY, as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout. Spiegel’s Gold Award was titled Daycare Project and focused on increasing literacy and availability of literature at a local daycare. For her project, she built a Little Free Library and picnic table, plus planted trees to establish a reading space. She finished her project through the distribution of digital literacy information during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Girl Scouts of WNY announces Rachel Bernstein as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout

Girl Scouts of Western New York is proud to announce Rachel Bernstein of Honeoye, NY, as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout. Bernstein’s project, creating a sign and benches for a community garden, involved first contacting the Conservation Board as well as her high school’s Green Team. Together, they worked out the details and ended with a successful project that raises awareness for the garden itself, as well as involvement opportunities for the community.

Girl Scouts of WNY announces Sophia Braithwaite as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout

Girl Scouts of Western New York is proud to announce Sophia Braithwaite of Webster, NY, as a 2020 Gold Award Girl Scout. Braithwaite’s project, Titan Ambassador Program, involves providing students who transfer into Webster Thomas High School with much needed support. Through collaboration with Webster Thomas PTSA, Think Tank Promotional, her advisors for Link Crew, and her school principal, Sophia Braithwaite organized a summer orientation and two luncheons to help transfer students to feel included at school.
