The Girl Scout Difference

Discover The Girl Scout Difference

Girls Scouts of Western New York is excited to announce our new campaign, The Girl Scout Difference. From August 1 to November 30, we’ll be raising the voices of current Girl Scouts and Women of Distinction to help us tell our story.

This multi-platform initiative extends from print to television to online and everything in between. We want to make the message clear – Girl Scouts makes a difference in the lives of all who are involved.

Whether it’s helping a girl learn English or showing her the science isn’t only for boys, Girl Scouts changes lives. Girls are taught the value of serving the community and taking care of the earth. They learn vital skills like money management and outdoor survival. We aren’t just a girl organization. We’re an organization that has something for every girl, no matter her interest or age.

We even have the research that backs up. Our girl-developed and girl-run programming provides a safe space for girls to grow. They aren’t adapting for programming made for everyone. Everything we do is focused on closing the gap between what is a ‘boy’ thing and what should be equal for everyone.

You know us for our cookies, which is the largest girl-run business in the world. These delicious treats also teach our girls about entrepreneurship. Sure, we do crafts, but we also build robots and learn how to start fires. The experiences we provide help your girl to find her thing in a world that sometimes forgets that a girl thing can be anything.

Follow us on our social media platforms and blog to hear stories from real people about what Girl Scouts did for them. We also want to hear from you! Tell us your stories and share the difference it made in your life so together we can celebrate how fantastic it is to be a Girl Scout.
