Volunteer Appreciation Month is Coming!
Did you know April is when we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month? April is a great time of year to celebrate and thank all the volunteers in our lives, at Girl Scouts and throughout our community!
From our short term volunteers who help out at events, to our amazing troop leaders, cookie managers, and our dedicated service unit volunteers, and those who volunteer in other ways… you all are our amazing superheroes. We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for everything you do.
Girl Scouts is an organization powered by volunteers. Volunteers make it possible to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character. We hope to make all of our wonderful volunteers feel loved especially in the month of April and all year long!
As we head into April, here are some fun ways you can celebrate the volunteers in your life:
1. Send an e-card to your favorite volunteers! This awesome new tool allows you to send heartfelt e-card via email, text message, or posted to social media. There are six fun designs to pick from. Check it out and share the love!
2. Mail a handwritten thank you card! Taking the time to let people know how much you appreciate them is an easy and meaningful way to show thanks. Check out Hallmark’s tips for writing a thank you card.
3. Check out our GSWNY Pinterest board for cute some ideas! A little gift like a piece of candy or flowers can be a fun way to show appreciation.
4. Shout-out volunteers on social media! Let the world know how much you love and appreciate the Girl Scout volunteers in your life by celebrating them on social media. Make sure you’re following GSWNY on social media in the month of April as we share lots of fun volunteer appreciation posts!

Available for any Girl that registers to attend a GSWNY camp program. To Receive the Early Bird Discount of $25 for GSWNY day camp or $30 for resident camp registration forms must be received online or at the Girl Scout office on or before Friday, March 31, 2023.
Cookie Program Extension
To help our go-getter Girl Scouts reach their goals, the 2023 Cookie Program has been extended! By continuing to sell Girl Scout Cookies, troops will be able to increase their earnings and achieve or surpass their cookie sales goals. Participating in the season extension is completely optional.
End of Cookie Program: April 22nd
Recognitions are due in Smart Cookies by April 24th
Final Payment Due for Troops Extending: April 24th
Our Early Renewal campaign will run April 1-May 31. During this time, we encourage our current members to renew their membership now for the next Girl Scout year. We are offering great incentives for girls, leaders, SU team personnel and troops! This is also the only time you can earn Sage Tuition Rewards. Watch our sneak peek video here
