#GivingTuesdayNow is happening today!

Today we hope you will join us as we participate in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity and giving.
We realize families are having to make hard choices about their finances and Girl Scouts may have to fall to the bottom of their list. Because of this, we are expecting a significant increase in the number of families requesting assistance to pay for their daughter’s $25.00 registration fee.
Today, you can take some of the worry away for these families by helping us Power Our Promise and help change a girl’s life by making a gift of $25.00 to our Girl Opportunity Fund. Help spread the word! Share our Giving Tuesday post and share what Girl Scouts means to you on your social accounts. Use the hashtags #PowerOurPromise and #GivingTuesdayNow.

Congratulations to Girl Scout Alyssa MacLefko for winning the Gannon University Hackathon Cybersecurity Competition and receiving a full-tuition scholarship!
Alyssa was one of 120 students who competed in the first round and one of 15 who qualified to compete at Gannon for the second round. She was also the only female student who qualified for the second round. Alyssa will attend Gannon in the fall and major in cybersecurity.
We’re so proud of Alyssa and her accomplishments! She was even recognized on GSUSA’s Facebook and Twitter!
Girl Scouts Doing Good Things
Our Girl Scouts are putting their ingenuity to work and doing great things across our WNY community. Check out a few examples below.
Western New York’s Girl Scout Troop #30824, with support from Bender’s Technical Detailing, Inc. of Tonawanda, provided a special and delicious cookie donation this week to NFTA Metro’s constant responders. One of the Troop’s Girl Scouts is Metro Supervisor Luis Rodriguez’s daughter, Aubriella. The Troop wanted to express their gratitude to everyone for their hard work in serving our community during the COVID-19 health emergency.
Troop 10193’s first cookie donations went to ALL STAR. The recipients were Office staff, dispatch, EMTs, and paramedics.
Troop 31158 from Clarence has taken several steps to earn the Give Back badge. With family and friends they raised funds to donate over 170 boxes of cookies to local nursing homes. On May 1, they celebrated School Lunch Superhero Day by giving each of the Cafeteria workers in their school district a box of cookies. This is Anna with the sign she made to thank the cafeteria workers.
We are #GirlScoutStrong! Looking forward to talking to you next week! In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Customer Care customercare@gswny.org or call 1-888-837-6410.
