Remote Schooling Meant Less Bullying. What Now?

It’s no secret that a lot of kids didn’t love fully remote schooling. They missed their friends, school-based activities like sports and prom, and the independence of having a space in the world separate from their families. They had zoom fatigue and they grew hungry for personal interactions.

But for some kids? Fully remote schooling was a welcome escape from being bullied at school, on the bus, or on their walk home. And while it’s fairly obvious that in-person bullying wouldn’t be happening as much when kids don’t see each other face-to-face, a recent study out of Boston University indicated that even cyberbullying decreased significantly in areas that adopted fully remote education.

Native American Heritage Month Fun Patch

The Girl Scout Native American Heritage Celebration Fun Patch is designed for Girl Scouts of all levels and their leaders, to celebrate and honor the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Native people, and to acknowledge the many contributions that Native American community have made and continue to make across our nation. Girls and leaders have plenty of activities to choose from to earn this fun patch, and we encourage girls from all ethnic backgrounds to participate, they are sure to learn interesting new things.

Become a National Delegate

Current Girl Scouts (and volunteers!) are encouraged to apply to be a National Delegate at the 56th National Council Session to be held in July 16 – 23, 2023 in Orlando, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to represent Girl Scouts of Western New York on the National level. The Board Development Committee is seeking a diverse pool of highly motivated and passionate candidates for a limited number of Delegate positions.  Learn More >>>
