Volunteer Appreciation

Volunteer Appreciation Month is Coming!

Did you know April is when we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month? April is a great time of year to celebrate and thank all the volunteers in our lives, at Girl Scouts and in our throughout our community!

All across our Western New York region, we want to give a heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers! From our short term volunteers who help out at events, to our amazing troop leaders and cookie managers, and our dedicated Service Unit volunteers… every volunteer is awesome and important!

Girl Scouts is a volunteer-run organization. Volunteers make it possible to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character. We hope to make all of our wonderful volunteers feel the love in the month of April and all year long!

As we head into April, here are three fun ways you can celebrate the volunteers in your life

  1. Send a handwritten thank you card! Taking the time to let people know how much you appreciate them is an easy and meaningful way to show thanks. Check out Hallmark’s tips for writing a thank you card. Or, girls can use this e-card template to show thanks to the leaders and volunteers in their lives.
  2. Check out our GSWNY Pinterest board for cute some ideas! A little gift like a piece of candy or flowers can be a fun way to show appreciation.
  3. Shout-out volunteers on social media! Let the world know how much you love and appreciate the Girl Scout volunteers in your life by celebrating them on social media. Make sure you’re following GSWNY in the month of April as we share lots of fun volunteer appreciation posts!
