My journey to being my authentic self
My journey to being my authentic self has come by just living, going through life’s experiences, and dealing with them the best way I know how. However, I believe the key to being your authentic self is to surround yourself by like-minded, positive people who share the same goals and aspirations as you. It is important that the people you keep the closest to you are people who you can grow and learn from, all while they are also willing to push you, cheer for you and support you in your own goals and endeavors. As an only child, I used to be shy, afraid of failure, did not like the spotlight, and used to be comfortable with always playing the lessor role. However, many of those things you would have never known because I never carried myself like that on the outside. However, over the years as I grew older and wiser, and again, based on the company I kept around me, I was able to gain my confidence, self-awareness and realize my self-worth. I was fortunate enough to have people in my life who guided me spiritually, supported me, and equipped me with the necessary tools that gave me the confidence and self-assurance to know it was okay for me to be my authentic self. Now, I proudly live my life unapologetically how I choose to live it.
